The Boise Sunrise Rotary Club is hosting a Shark Pond service project on July 20, 2024. Two entrepreneurs will pitch their businesses for $1,000 USD startup loans. Glass Catering & Restaurant and Nashe Style &Tailoring seek micro-loans by pitching their startups to a panel of judges from the Boise Sunrise Rotary Club. Gladys Kawala, owner of Glass Catering and Restaurant, offers tasty, colorful, appetizing, healthy foods for events such as weddings and other social gatherings. We also run a fast food restaurant in Limbe the busiest part of Blantyre, Malawi where we provide people with mostly local foods. Because of our creativity and skills we attract a lot of customers. Shirley Kamija, owner of Nashe Designs and Tailoring, makes school uniforms, chitenje products like bags, dresses, bridesmaid dresses, wedding dresses, and children’s wear. Nashe Designs has 15 regular (dedicated) customers. If given a loan she will buy an industrial sewing machine, overlocking machine, and accessories.
