Cell phone shop in Ashaiman, Ghana.
In 2017 Scott Kofi started a business called K.Bonz Phones, which sells phones and accessories at Ashaiman New town Station. Soon afterward he travelled to Nigeria to serve a mission, leaving his father to run the business until he returned 2 years later in 2019. Scott desires to move his business from an open table top under a tent and into a small shipping container store that is commonly found in the area (see below).
The container costs approximately $500 USD. The remaining grant money will be spent on inventory that will allow him to expand into wholesale distribution to many other small retailers around Accra. This is business offers a nice profit margin of around 70%. Scott said, “I believe that I will be able to make a lot of profit if I’m able to implement these plans into practice because I have a very good location in the market and I am known for providing excellent, reliable service.”
He continues, “I have effectively used social media to sell my product. I advertise it on my social media pages which attract many potential customers. I also do delivery service to my customers at an affordable price in their convenient homes.”
