Go Farms Year 2 Expansion

In April 2021 the founder of Go Farms, George of Accra, Ghana, received a $1,000 grant to start an egg farm. Because he had spent 3 months volunteering on a large and successful egg farm, George knew how to keep the hens healthy and producing. He raised 300 small chicks into laying hens and then expanded his flock to 700 using the profits from his first year in business.

He now seeks a $400 grant to purchase one set of battery cages to test if the system will increase reduce the spread of illness and wasted feed. These are the top threats to poultry farms. The three-tier battery cage holds 96 birds with easy entry to the feeding trough and nipple drinker. The aluminum feeder is lightweight and easy to clean.
