Many school-aged children living in less fortunate communities in Paarl-East, South Africa struggle to achieve positive school performance due to poor living conditions and lack of learning opportunities. Billy’s Learning Center provides one-on-one tutoring services for children ages 5 to 11 in these communities to improve their reading and math skills, as well as boost their self-esteem and confidence. Billy’s Learning Center plans to expand from 6 students currently to 16 students. Margaret seeks a $1,000 grant to purchase desks and tables, tile and paint for the classroom, and a computer.
